Questions & Answers

How do I avoid rupturing soft bottles?

Don’t over‑torque the connection and avoid squeezing against a blocked outlet. Use compatible bags and keep threads clean to prevent blowouts.

Why does my filter slow down?

Silt builds up in the fibers. Backflush regularly with clean water and prefilter dirty sources. Warm water backflushes can help restore flow.

Can I plumb a squeeze filter inline with a hydration hose?

Yes, many are designed for it. Route the filter with the arrow in the flow direction and test bite‑valve resistance before committing to a long day.

What’s a realistic daily volume?

For one or two people, 3–6 liters per day is comfortable with a squeeze or inline setup. Larger groups are better served by gravity systems.

How should I store the filter between trips?

Dry thoroughly, then store in a breathable bag. For long breaks, sanitize per the manufacturer and keep out of freezing temps.
